ABOUT MISE EN FLEUR

Mise en Fleur is a one-of-a-kind creative gathering that merges floral design, education, wellness, and community. The retreat is hosted by Christina Yan, Founder of bespoke floral studio Bellevue Floral Co., based in Point Reyes Station, California

Mise en Fleur has now grown from a one-time event in Napa Valley to a destination retreat in stunning cities around the world including Lake Como Italy, Santa Barbara, and Atlanta, Georgia.

Mise en Fleur is open to florists and floral enthusiasts of all experience levels. Each day is typically centered around a hands-on floral design intensive accompanied by a business course (topics range from opening a brick-and-mortar shop to strategies for social media and content creation).

MEET YOUR HOST: CHRISTINA YAN

With over a decade of experience in the design industry, Christina is known for her entrepreneurial spirit and multi-faceted career as both a florist and social media content creator. Known for her playful floristry style and knack for blending unique colors and textures, Christina's design philosophy is rooted in much more than just traditional floral technique. As a self-taught florist, Christina lends her style to her years prior as an artist of other mediums. From having spent time as a food stylist and photographer to creating window displays for Anthropologie, Christina is excited to share with you her unique perspective on how to think outside of the box when designing with flowers and building a successful, profitable business.

Born in San Francisco and raised in the Peninsula, Christina rooted herself in Napa Valley for most of her floral career. As of 2026 she now resides in Point Reyes Station with her fiancé and beloved dog Tulip aka 'Tuli'. Her floral studio is located in the heart of town, on B Street.

Christina received her Bachelor degrees in the areas of Communication, Art Studio, and Tech Entrepreneurship at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She served as the Branding Director of a corporate foodservice contractor prior to starting her own business in 2014 as a culinary brand consultant, food stylist + photographer.

In 2015, she found herself unexpectedly at the San Francisco Flower Market and came to the epiphany that although food and photography would be lifelong passions, flowers might be her actual calling. By 2016, she set out to educate herself on all things flowers - scouring books & the internet for tutorials and developing her own techniques through trial and error. With determination, Christina quickly paved herself a life immersed in blooms. The rest is history!

You may also recognize Christina from the premier season of Full Bloom, a floral competition reality series on HBO Max. Fun fact - she was scouted via Instagram by producers! Social media has always played a large role in the success of her businesses & it's now an area of expertise that Christina passionately teaches about.

From pricing and proposal writing, to production systems and marketing, Christina has developed a highly detailed class full of practical information and valuable industry insights. No questions are off the table and you'll be able to connect with Christina in advance so she can best customize the learning experience for you.

In addition to the business consultation portion of your day, you'll also design hands-on alongside Christina using an array of floral product.

FLORISTRY & WELLNESS GROUP RETREAT

Join us for a very special Mise en Fleur where we'll tuck away together in the rural countryside of West Marin, a beloved, tranquil corner of the North Bay that Christina now calls home.

This 4-day, 3-night floristry retreat will cover many floristry topics while also making time for rest & creative activities. Coursework includes a Business 101 deep dive, Marketing & Social Media, bridal bouquet technique, and large scale installation design.

Our retreat agenda also includes a watercolor workshop, free time to soak in the beauty of Point Reyes, and many opportunities to gather socially as a group while dining on delicious, local fare.
